Inspiring gift a game-changer for Foundation
31 March, 2022

In our last newsletter we announced that we had received an amazing $1m gift to establish a new fund to support Nelson Tasman vulnerable families.

We now have even more incredible news to relay as in February we received the news that the same fantastic donors had made a further gift – of $3.5m.

As we noted previously, this amazing gifting was made by a couple after careers overseas and retirement from Goldman Sachs.  The couple decided, after their initial $1m gift had been settled and the new endowment fund initiated, that they wished to add to the endowment fund by way of the second remarkable gift.

Foundation Executive Officer Gavin Larsen said that naturally everyone involved with the Foundation were simply thrilled with the gifts.

“These are amazingly generous gifts and will take the Foundation’s community impact to another level. As we all know we are living in challenging times and gifts of this nature will crucially assist at-need areas of our community.

“We will now work with these incredible donors to ensure they can support local causes that are dear to their hearts. We thank them sincerely for their generosity.” Gavin said.

Foundation Chair Dave Ashcroft said, “I simply don’t know what to say!  The generosity of the donor is barely credible, but we’ll take their being incredible any day of the week!”
