Tēnā koutou, greetings to all.
I have had a busy and exciting start to the year including meetings with donors, businesses, community groups and other funders. It’s been a privilege to attend some fantastic events across Te Tauihu including the Golden Bay Show, a fundraiser for our Zest for Life fund in the beautiful Baton Valley, a visit to Marlborough and many events in Nelson – you can read some of the results of that mahi (work) in this newsletter. My continuing impression is that TSCF is building a great reputation across the region and across the many people we connect with – thank you for being part of that journey.
Our Community Foundation relies on support from individuals and businesses to keep the ‘office’ going and we are excited to continue our relationship with Signature Homes and to add BlueBerryIT to our whānau – welcome on board! Read on to see how important their support is to us further developing a thriving organization and region.
A focus for this year is building relationships and we are trialing some new approaches such as donor and supporter events and ensuring professional advisors have the information they need to advise clients on issues that relate to our Foundation. Watch this space for more updates and let me know if you have ideas that might help you feel more connected to our kaupapa (purpose).
It is a special time of year as we are starting to receive reports from groups who received funding from us in the last grant round. We will share them so you can see the result of your generosity and support – there are a couple in this newsletter that show just how big an impact a small donation can have on someone’s life.
Please get in touch with any questions, suggestions, feedback or ideas, I’m excited by the start we have made to 2024 and what the rest of the year will bring
